This Privacy Policy explains what information TapTheDeal (“we”, “us”) collects when you use tapthedeal.com and our Telegram channel, and how we use it. We follow India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the Information Technology Act, 2000.
1. Information we collect
- Technical data. Like almost every website, our server records standard log data: your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you visit, the referring page, and the date and time. We use these logs for security, to prevent abuse and to fix errors.
- Deal clicks. When you tap a deal, we count the click against that deal. This count is anonymous and is not linked to you.
- Information you send us. If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you write. We use it only to reply to you.
We do not collect payment details, passwords, government IDs or other sensitive personal data.
2. Cookies and local storage
- Referral cookie (
src). If you arrive from one of our links with a source code, we store that code for 7 days so we know which of our channels sent you. It holds no personal information. - Preferences in your browser. We save your light/dark theme choice and whether you closed the Telegram pop-up in your browser’s local storage. This stays on your device.
We do not use advertising cookies or cross-site tracking cookies. You can clear or block cookies in your browser settings; the site will still work.
3. Third parties
- Amazon and other platforms. When you tap a deal, you go to Amazon India or another platform. From that point, their own privacy policy and cookies apply. Amazon may use cookies to record that you came from our affiliate link, so we can earn a commission.
- Link shorteners. Some links use services such as amzn.to or Bitly, which may record the click under their own privacy policies.
- Telegram. If you join our channel, Telegram’s privacy policy applies. Channel admins cannot see subscribers’ phone numbers.
4. How we use information
We use information to run and secure the website, understand which deals and categories are popular, fix problems, and answer your messages. We do not sell, rent or trade your personal data.
5. How long we keep it
Server logs are kept for a limited period and then deleted. Emails are kept only as long as needed to handle your request.
6. Security
Our website uses HTTPS encryption, and we take reasonable steps to protect our systems. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, but we work to keep the data we hold safe.
7. Your rights
Under Indian law, you can ask to access, correct or delete personal data we hold about you, withdraw consent, and raise a grievance. Email tapthedealofficial@gmail.com with the subject line “Privacy request”, and we will respond within the time required by law.
8. Children
This website is meant for users aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top shows when it last changed.
